Four Tricks to Improve the Lighting in Your Videos
With the proliferation of video content on social media, the competition for people’s attention is greater than ever. While this is ultimately a good thing, it also means that you can no longer get by creating videos that don’t meet basic components of production.
If you are recording videos of you speaking to the camera, proper lighting is one of those basics. If viewers see a video with poor lighting, they will keep scrolling without a second thought.
Not sure how to improve the lighting in your videos? Here are a few tips:
Record around midday in a room with plenty of natural light
Place a lamp in front of you (behind the camera) so your face is illuminated
Position yourself so there are no lamps or windows behind you
Position yourself so there are no light fixtures above you
If you’re able, you can also invest money in a ring light to remove shadows on your face. Or if you’re ready to take your video content to the next level, just call the experts. We’re here ready to help.
