If you are recording videos of you speaking to the camera, proper lighting is one of those basics. If viewers see a video with poor lighting, they will keep scrolling without a second thought.

• Record around midday in a room with plenty of natural light

• Place a lamp in front of you (behind the camera) so your face is illuminated

• Position yourself so there are no lamps or windows behind you

• Position yourself so there are no light fixtures above you
