Tips to Promote Your Event on Social Media

Promoting an event is more than simply posting a date and location and hoping people RSVP. You need… you guessed it... a strategy for promoting your event on social.

So where do you start? With your goals of course! Come up with a realistic number of attendees you hope to gain from your posts. Keep in mind that unless you’re running a paid ad campaign, social is best for reaching people who already follow you.

Now that you have a goal, get creative! Are you hosting a keynote speaker at your event? If so, make a post stressing that members of your community don’t want to miss this opportunity to hear from your speaker.

Another option if you have the budget is to run a giveaway leading up to the event. This promotes the event and gives your followers a reason to pay attention to your updates.

Naturally, it helps to know your audience. Is your event for someone specific, like health care providers or caregivers? If so, keep them in mind when creating your posts.
